Our School
Our school, named after Justice Henry Higgins (1851 - 1929), a judge of the High Court of Australia, was opened in January 1971.
We are proud of the quality education our school provides and we have a strong reputation in establishing innovative and effective programs. In addition to the great emphasis placed on the development of Literacy and Numeracy skills we also offer opportunities to participate in music, drama and other extra-curricular sporting activities.
After school care is provided by Belconnen Community Services.
All parents and families are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities within the school and to feel that the school is an important focal point and asset to the Higgins community. Your involvement may be with the School Board, Parents and Citizens Association, Canteen, assisting with class programs or excursions, in the library or with our music or sporting programs or direct involvement in particular projects.
If you are seeking information about enrolment at Higgins please telephone (02 6205 7788) the school for an appointment.
We provide a secure and caring environment where all children develop their skills and talents to the optimum level.
